NWEA- Map growth

NWEA- Map growth

MAP® Growth™ measures what students know and inform what they’re ready to learn next. By dynamically adjusting to each student’s responses, MAP Growth creates a personalized assessment experience that accurately measures performance. Educators can use this data to inform instruction and track growth over time. The school uses MAP Growth in grades Kinder-11th.

Student Council

Student Council

The PCIS Student Council gives students a chance to help make decisions about our school. Their purpose is to serve as a liaison between the student body and the administration and cultivate school spirit and pride. This program is a positive learning experience and shows students that the staff values their voice and input. Elections are held at the beginning of each year and those elected are expected to act as role models in all aspects of school.

Co-curricular Activities

Co-curricular Activities

Junior Achievement

PCIS has participated in the Junior Achievement Program for many years. The program allows students to develop aspects of their personal and intellectual knowledge and has been very successful in past years. Every year about 20 parents and members of the local community volunteer by sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students. The programs are taught in both the Elementary and Senior schools and allow students to practice what they have learned in the classroom and be prepared for their future.

Model U.N.

The Model United Nations program engages students with current issues and prepares them to be better global citizens. Students and faculty work together to propose resolutions addressing global concerns. Through the program, students build an understanding of building diplomacy, compromise, negotiation, and debate skills. Students often participate in an annual international conference in the United States. The FUNDGLODE sponsors the international conference (CILA) and develops other activities during the year for young people to be a part of actions that affect society positively.

Extra-Curricular activities

Extra-Curricular activities

The extracurricular activities program's main objective is encouraging the proper use of leisure time after the end of classes by allowing students valuable time to interact with each other and with teachers in a more informal setting.

Each semester students can choose from a wide range of activities that are linked by cultural, sporting and social themes. For example, Environmental Club, Soccer, Volleyball, Yoga, Math Club, Reading Club, Violin, Chess and Jewelry Design, amongst others.
