Junior Achievement

Puntacana International School has participated in the Junior Achievement Program for many years. Through the implementation of this program, the school facilitates the opportunity for the students to develop different aspects of their personal and intellectual knowledge. The program has been very successful in our school and it has impacted hundreds of students.

Every year around 20 parents and members of the local community offer their services as volunteers by sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students. Students learn valuable lessons from their experiences and knowledge from an ‘out of school’ expert. The programs, covering areas like business, global economics, values, leadership and entrepreneurship, are taught in both Elementary and Senior School.

The most significant aspect of using the program is that students have the opportunity to practice what they have learned in the classroom. This helps them to be better prepared and also helps them to develop special abilities for the future.

Model U.N.

Model U.N.

The Model United Nations provides educational programs engaging students in current issues. The simulations and conferences attended by our students help prepare them to be better global citizens.

The different programs offer a forum for discussing global concerns in a context that closely parallels the "real world." Students and faculty work feverishly to propose resolutions addressing regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, women’s and children’s rights, economic and social development, and the environment. The programs provide students with a better understanding of the inner working of the United Nations as they build diplomacy, compromise, negotiation and debating skills.

Students also participate in the annual international conference (NYDRMUN) held in New York.

The FUNDGLODE sponsors the international conference (CILA) and also develops different activities during the year, where young people have the opportunity to be part of the actions taken to have a positive effect on society.
